Product - Empties July 2018
As most of you may know, I completed a No Buy Challenge during the month of July (post). During the challenge my focus was to finish open products and get rid of some of sample/travel size products.
Listed below are some of products that I finished during the month of July.
P.S. One of the hardest part of documenting empties is to remember to hold on the empty package once the product has been finished.
Face
Fresh Rose Face Mask (mini size)
Fresh Rose Mask
The Fresh Rose Mask is a gel like texture mask that contains rose petals and rose water. The mask is great for toning and providing hydration. I've been obsessed with the mask for the past year and I really think it's suitable for all skin types. The rose mask is one of my favorites in my current collection and will continue to be a staple in my skincare routine. I like to use the mask once a week during the summer an winter months.
Will I purchase/repurchase? Yes, I actually have a backup in a bigger size ready to use!
Tata Harper "Resurfacing Mask" (mini size)
Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask
The Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask is a natural beta-hydroxy mask. I received a deluxe size sample from a past Sephora Playbox and was able to get 2-3 uses of the mask. The resurfacing mask is aimed to those who have issues with pores, roughness and uneven skin tones.
After the first use I could see a noticeable difference with my skin. The results were glowy and toned skin. After using the Resurfacing Mask my serum and moisturizer absorbed very nicely into my skin
Will I purchase/repurchase? No. The full size of the mask retails for $62 for only 1 ounce of product. That's a pretty hefty price tag for such a small size product.
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum (mini size)
The Truth Serum is a Vitamin C and collagen based serum. The mixture is great to brighten and firm the skin. I've been using the Truth Serum on and off for the past 2 years. I redeemed some points from Sephora to receive the mini size. I love this size to travel with.
Please Note: Vitamin C does not have a long shelf life, therefore its best to purchase it in smaller batches.
The Truth Serum absorbs quickly, gives my face a great glow and leaves it very soft. It's very comparable to the C-Firma Day Serum by Drunk Elephant ($80) (my current vitamin C serum), but it's way more affordable. In all honesty, I haven't noticed a difference between the two products.
Will I repurchase? Yes! After comparing the price, texture and results of the Truth Serum to other products on the market I will definitely be repurchasing it!

If you've been following my other posts, then you would know that I use the Supergoop spray everyday. I have multiple sizes of the spray and I try to keep one with me at all times. I was able to redeem some points from Sephora to get a mini size and also received another mini in a past Sephora Playbox.
Will I purchase/repurchase? Yes, I love how the spray makes the sunscreen easy to use and it's also very affordable.

Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave-In
I've been purchasing the Knot Today Leave-In/Detangler since I first went natural. The product provides a lot of "slip", thus making detangling my hair easier. I've tried other leave-ins and nothing has compared to this. This will forever be in my hair care collection.
Will I purchase/repurchase? Yes, without a doubt!

Bumble and Bumble - BB Curl Style Cream (mini)

I was pleased to see that the Bumble and Bumble Curl Style Defining Cream provides a UV protection. I liked this cream for doing braid outs on stretched hair.
I liked the BB Curl Style Cream enough to finish it, but not enough to purchase it. My main reason is I have other products that perform on the same level that cost less.

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

Described as a spray to add beach waves. Honestly, I don't think this product was meant for my kinkly curly coily hair. The product was sent to me through Influenster . I used the spray as a curl refresher and it worked okay.

Will I purchase/repurchase? No, it didn't really do much for me.
In the efforts to finish open products, I used the Victoria Secret Super Soft Body Butter until the very end. The body butter had a light scent of coconut and contained tiny sparkles. The body butter was not very moisturizing and was of the same consistency as a light lotion. Being that I didn't find the body butter super moisturizing, I was disappointed with the product.
Price: Around $10 on sale
Will I purchase/repurchase? I'm not sure if the Body Butter is still carried at Victoria Secret in this scent, but I do not plan on repurchasing it.
The Bum Bum Cream is described as body cream that helps to tighten the look of the skin. I constantly see this cream advertised on social media. I received a small sample of the Cream from a Sephora order. I can't say much of the tightening effects of the cream. I found the scent very pleasant, but was not the most moisturizing. I liked the smell of the product more than the actual formula.
Will I purchase/repurchase? No
I've been using the Dove Body Wash for the last 6 months. I love how smooth it leaves my skin after using it. The size and price is also very inexpensive.

Will I purchase/repurchase? Yes, I usually by them by the two's.
Fragrances
Balenciaga Florabotanica (rollerball size)
I've been wearing the scent for a few years. This was the strongest floral perfume in my collection. This perfume lasts very long on the skin and I never needed to touch it up during the day. As much as I liked the perfume, I will not be repurchasing. At this current time I'm trying to miniize my perfume collection to scents I soley love.
Notes: Carnation, Wild Mint, Turkish Rose Essence, Hemp Leaves, Vetiver Roots, White Amber.
Commodity "Book"- I really didn't like this one which really surprised me as I tend to like scents that have key notes of sandalwood. The scent was very strong and smelled some what spicy if that makes any sense. I can't really say much of the longevity of the scent since I was actually looking forward for the scent to fade. From what I can remember it's not a scent that will last all day.
Key Notes: Sandalwood, Bergamot, Cypress
This scent reminds me of something my dad would wear. I don't love the scent, but then again I don't hate it. This is not a scent that I would purchase in the future.
Key Notes: Cannabis accord, Patchouli Essence, Leather accord
Tory Burch (signature Tory Burch)
I would describe this as a pleasant blend of floral. This is one of those scents that would appeal to many people. What draws me to the scent is probably the notes of Tuberose and Sandalwood. As pleasant as I find the scent, I don't find the scent intricate enough to purchase.
However, if I received it as a gift I would use it and finish it without a doubt. This would be a great perfume gift for someone if you're not too sure what they would like.
Notes: Neroli, Grapefruit, Cassis, Bergamot, Peony, Tuberose, Jasmine Sambac, Vetiver, Sandalwood.
My Burberry Blush is a sweet scent, but in a pleasant way. I like that the notes are not too overpowering. I would consider this scent to be more of a spring/summer perfume. The scent is very playful and smells more on the younger side.
Key Notes: Pomegranate, Rose, Jasmine
I don't think I've smelled a Marc Jacobs Perfume that I didn't like! The Eau So Fresh perfume is very fresh. This is the perfect scent that can be worn without offending others as some strong perfimes can be offensive. I would describe this as a scent that can be worn year round that is fresh, but still has a little bit of floral undertones.
Key Notes: Red Raspberry, Wild Rose, Warm Plum

I really would like to challenge others to try holding on to product empties during the month to later evaluate them. The process gives me a better undestanding of what I like and what I don't.
