Body Care Empties

I’m sure by now many of you know that I’m a skincare junkie for facial products. It doesn’t stop there. I also love body care products. In the efforts to incorporate and share more of my body care products, I thought I would share some of my recently finished products. Please be sure to leave some of your body care favorites in the comments below!

EmerginC - Citrus-Kombucha Body Wash

Price $36 for 6.7 ounces (*Gifted)

I was gifted this body wash back in April. I used it during the months of April and May. Prior to receiving this body wash, the brand was unknown to me. As with any skincare product, I like to research products prior to using them. I was very interested in trying out this body wash as this is the first body wash that i’ve used that falls into the category of clean skin care (paraben free, no synthetic fragrances, no animal testing and no synthetic color dyes).

The smell of the body wash is a light citrus scent and is not over-powering. The first thing I noticed was that the texture of the body wash was very fluid and thin. This along with the fact that it had a low lather often caused me to squeeze out the product multiple times in order to cover and clean my entire body. I agree with the description of the body wash being gentle, however I didn’t find it to be deep cleaning. To put things into perspective this is NOT the type of body wash I would reach for after a long gym workout.

I prefer body washes that offer more of a deep cleaning and lather more. Being that the item was gifted I was unaware of the price to using it. I personally don’t believe this body wash is worth the price tag of $36; therefore I do not plan on purchasing this.

Kopari Coconut Crush Scrub

Size: 1.7 ounces (purchased in 3 piece set)

I purchased the Coconut Crush Body Scrub after receiving a sample pack of it. The majority of Kopari’s products smell like coconuts and this scrub is no different. The scrub is made with crushed coconut shells and is one of the more finer scrubs textures that I’ve used. Being that the product size I had was so small, I didn’t really use it all over. I mostly used the scrub to exfoliate under my arms. The scrub contains oil and once rinsed off it left my skin very moisturized.

I do like the scrub, but I’ve tried other scrubs that are less expensive and just as good. With that being said its highly unlikely that I’ll purchase another bottle, at least not right away. If I’m able to purchase the scrub at a discounted or sale price, I will do so.

Ingredients: Sucrose, Cocos Nucifera (ORGANIC Coconut) Oil, Isopropyl Palmitate, Beeswax, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Shell Powder, Silica, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Fragrance (Parfum), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Beta-Sitosterol, Squalene, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract Oil

Oge’s Sugar Body Scrub

Price: $25 for 8oz

I was gifted the Sugar Body Scrub in the Rose scent along with the Face +Body Cream (featured below). I was immediately impressed with the packing of the scrub. As seen in the picture, the scrub comes in a glass container that I fully plan on up-cycling now that it’s finished. Prior to using the scrub I checked the ingredients for the scrub and I was very pleased to see that it was made with very little ingredients.

The smell of the scrub smells like a rose and lavender blend. As with most sugar scrubs, the texture is very gritty but breaks down fairly quickly when it’s being rubbed into the skin. After using this scrub I noticed that my skin feels really soft, smooth and moisturized. I really loved using this scrub during the winter months. I fully intend on purchasing this in a few months. I do think the price is worth the quality of the product.

PS. If you follow Oge’s on instagram you may be able to catch one of their sales as they often mention them there.

Ingredients: Organic Cane Sugar, Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, White Kaolin Clay, French Rose Kaolin Clay, Vitamin E Oil, Lavender Essential Oil, Rose Absolute

Oge’s Face +Body Cream (Lavender)

Price: $25 for 6oz

As previously mentioned, I received the Face + Body Cream from Oge’s. I really enjoyed using the body cream. I found the Lavender scent to be quite strong, but being that I like the scent of Lavender it didn’t bother me at all. A little of this body cream goes a long way. Once the product was warmed and applied to my skin, I noticed how moisturized my skin felt hours later!

I know the cream references that it can be used on the face. But being that it contains essential oil I didn’t apply it to my face. Overall, I was completely satisfied with this body butter and I plan on purchasing it in the lemon and mango scents.

Ingredients: Shea Butter, Shea Nut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Argan Oil, and Lavender Essential Oil

Trader Joe’s Coconut Body Butter

Price: $5.99 for 8oz

While browsing in my favorite place, Trader Joe’s, I came across this body butter in their beauty section. I've tried the Rose Oil hand cream and I really love it so I decided to give this a try. The coconut scent is very light. The texture of the body cream feels like a light whipped cream. I find this to be hydrating and good to use during the summer months. Although it’s mentioned as a body butter, the formula is actually quite light -at least in comparison to the body butters that I’ve used in the past.

This first jar lasted me a little over a month. I’ve already repurchased the body cream and I’m looking forward to using this during the summer months. The price is well worth the quantity.

European Wax Center- Smooth Me Hair Wipes

Strut Smoothly Skincare Collection

Price: $28.50 for 45 pads.

I started waxing as I struggled with ingrown hairs. This product was recommended by my waxer. These special wipes are made with glycolic and salicylic acids. They also help with the process of slowing down hair growth. The wipes have a heavy alcohol scent, but they do work. These are great to use in the bikini and underarm areas to help prevent and treat ingrown hairs. At first I thought the price was a little expensive. The container comes with 45 pads, but the trick is to cut them in half to double the quantity. I will continue to purchase these wipes!
