March Empties 2020

Was it just me? But March felt like a super long month. I think part of it could be that I worked from home for the last 2-3 weeks of it.  I always mention how much I love masking and during the month of March I finished two face masks! As promised, I wanted to do a few reviews on the products that were finished during the month of March.

The items that have been previously reviewed will be noted and the original post will be linked. The items that were gifted will have an * placed near it.

Face Masks

Ernzo Laszlo Hydra Therapy Memory Sleep Mask

Price: $108 for 1.35oz*

This mask is described as an overnight brightening mask that delivers moisture while you sleep. The mask itself is a pretty pink jelly like texture. Once applied and worked into the skin the texture thins out very quickly.

I typically applied this mask as a midday mask that I would wash off. A few times a month I use a hair steamer to add moisture back to my hair and during this time I like to apply a mask. Almost like double masking. I typically used this face mask for this sole purpose. Once removed my skin felt nice, but the results that I notice (little to known) is not worth the price of this mask. With that being said I would NOT purchase this mask.

Also the mask contains Dimethicone as the second ingredient!!

Ingredients: Water,Dimethicone, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, PEG-240/Hdi Copolymer Bis-Decyltetradeceth-20 Ether, Caprylic/Capric Trigylceride, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Dimethiconol, Chlorphenesin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Disodium EDTA, Parfum (Fragrance), Alaria Esculenta Extract, Citric Acid, Trideceth-6, Potassium Laurate, Tocopherol, Artemisia Absinthium Extract, Artemisia Vulgaris Extract, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Leaf Cell Culture Extract, CI 16035 (Red 40), Opuntia Ficus-Indica Stem Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Leaf Extract, Opuntia Ficus-Indica Leaf Cell Extract.

The Pixi Glow Mud Mask

Price: $22 for 1.5oz *

In all honestly this mask took me by surprise. I didn’t think I was going to like this mask as much as I did. The Glow Mud mask is described as a purifying, clay mask to balance the skin. I have to agree that this mask does this. I typically used this about once a week. With that type of usage the mask has lasted me a little under a year.

I really like that only a light layer of product is needed. Once the mask dries within the 15 minute timespan, it’s easy to remove with water and a face cloth. Once removed my skin looked toned and felt great. My only con about the mask would have to be the size. I think 1.5 oz off of product to be on the smaller size. Also the masks lists fragrance at the bottle of the list (typically meaning that it contains a small amount) The mask smells like a spa, but is not overly sweet or perfume like. Being that I did enjoy the mask and the effects from it, I will repurchase it in the future.

Cleansers

Holifrog Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balmy Wash

Price: $42 for 2.5 oz*

If this is your first time hearing about Holifrog, I’ll provide some quick background information. Holifrog is a brand that focuses on cleansers. They currently have 5 different types at the moment. The logic behind the brand is situational cleansing. This is using diffferent cleansers to fit the needs of your skin for the particular time or skin need. This is a practice that I’ve been following for quite a few years now.

The Balm Cleanser is known for being a great cleanser to use at the first step of your night skincare routine. The balm is applied to dry skin to help break down makeup and spf. Once activated with water, the texture of the cleanser begins to turn into a milk like texture.

I really love that this never burned my eyes and the packaging of the balm being in a tube made it very easy to use. My only qualm with the product is the price. I find that $42 to be pretty pricey. I used this cleanser from mid December to mid March. If I used this cleanser more frequently, I would of depleted it a lot sooner than this time frame. Being that I have another balm cleanser in my collection that provides more product and costs less, this is not a product that I would purchase.

Farmacy Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser

Price: $28 for 5oz

The Farmacy Clean Bee Cleanser has to be one of my favorites. This is the cleanser that I often recommend to people that are just starting out with skincare that is looking for an overall cleanser. I have normal to oily skin, but I feel like this cleanser would work well for almost all skin types.

The cleanser itself is a gel texture and smells like honey. I love that it doesn’t strip the skin, only a little bit of product is needed. The cleanser is formulated with hyaluronic acid, a honey blend and other great ingredients. Being that I love this cleanser so much I would definitely repurchase. I currently have so many cleansers opened at the moment, so I will not be repurchasing for a few months.

Dermalogica Prisma Protect SPF 30 Moisturizer

Price: $65 for 1.7 oz (mini pictured 0.4 oz for $16.25)*

The Prisma Protect Moisturizer Sunscreen is a broad spectrum formula fit for various skin types. This particular formula is created with antioxidants like, Matcha, and is light formulated to protect the skin against pollution, and UV, infrared, and blue light.

I was gifted the mini of this Dermalogica SPF moisturizer during a Pop-up the brand had several months ago. When I initially tried out the moisturizer, I thought the it would have a white cast due to how opaque it appeared on my skin. But after working it into the skin I noticed how well it absorbed and the lovely glow it gave to my skin.

I typically wore this alone and not with any other moisturizers or sunscreens. This was my weekend go to for SPF. My only problem with this is the price. 1.7 oz for a sunscreen that costs $65 is bit over the touch. If worn daily and reapplied throughout the day, I would likely go through this in the matter of 2 months or so. I don’t think this is worth the price.

Body Care

Fre Purify Body Cleanser

Price: $35 for 5.07 oz*

The Free Body Cleanser is geared for deep and gentle exfoliation after post workouts. The clarifying formula

I previously reviewed this on my Instagram months ago. It’s described as a body scrub, but it actually has the perfect level of grit to exfoliate with every couple of days. The tube packaging is perfect for the shower and I didn’t find the formula to be messy like other body scrubs.

I think the performance and price matches pretty well. If you’re interested in purchasing, you can save 25% with my link HERE.

Ingredients: Water, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Lauramidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate, Sodium Acrylate, Lauryl Glucoside & Stearyl Citrate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Coco-Glucoside & Glyceryl Oleate, Glycerin, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Seed Powder, Fragrance, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Carbomer, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycerin & Argania Spinosa Leaf Extract

Harper + Ari Exfoliating Sugar Cubes

Price: $16 for 4oz

I received these sugar cubes in one of my Fab Fit Fun Boxes. They smell so good, but the formulation in my opinion was horrible. The directions call for you to add water to a cube and massage on to the skin. I don’t like the way they broke down once activated with water and I found the level of exfoliating to be very minimal.

I know these are well loved by many, but these were a total miss for me. The only thing I like about these is that the packaging makes them easy to travel with.
