July '21 Empties

One thing that I’ve been loving with my empties is recycling glass packaging to use for my plant propagation.

The Diptyque candle was one I was looking forward to because I knew I would be repurposing the jar. At the current time it’s housing some of my mascaras. I also sometimes repurpose small moisturizer jars to use for travel and easier transport. Have you tried repurposing some of your empties jars?

Face Empties

Chanel Le Coton

Price: $20 for 100 cotton pads

I originally purchased these cotton pads because I heard they were really soft and because of the luxe vibes. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like them, but I actually ended up loving them and since then I’ve repurchased another box. I know many people are on the movement of the reusable cotton rounds. I’ve tried to make the switch, but I still feel the need to have these traditional cotton rounds in my routine. The Chanel Le Coton is extremely soft, I like that square size is bigger than others that I’ve tried and I find these to be very durable. I know these are a little pricey, but I will continue to purchase. Btw, when you order online they package them really lovely and let you pick out two Chanel beauty samples!

Farmacy Deep Sweep

Price: $28 for 4oz

I can’t say enough great things about this toner. Over the past several months I’ve tried several exfoliating toners, but this one is by far my favorite for my oily skin during the summer months. If you would like to hear more about it, check out my instagram review HERE.

I’m also happy to announce that I’m now a Farmacy Beauty Affiliate and have been given a 20% off code to share. Ghost Democracy Transparent Gentle Exfoilating Daily Cleanser

Price: $24 for 5oz

I wasn’t sure what to think when I first started using this cleanser. I initially thought an exfoliating cleanser would be too harsh for me to use daily. But I’m happy to say it wasn’t. I typically used this 2-3x a week as a morning cleanser as a way to prep my skin on the days that I knew I would be wearing a face mask for the majority of the day. This cleanser is made with a blend of .1% Glycolic Acid, 1.8% Mandelic Acid, 1.6% Willow Bark Extract, 1.3% Niacinamide. The over consistency of this cleanser is a very thin gel and a little goes a long way. I definitely think this cleanser is worth the price for the performance and the length of time that it lasted.

Naturium Fermented Camellia Creamy Cleansing Oil

Price: $20 for 3.5oz

This cleansing oil is a typical first step cleanser. The texture is a oil gel that transforms into a milky texture when activated with water. For some reason I thought this was going to be more a liquid oil consistency almost like the Tatcha Camellia Oil, but this is nothing like that. I found that I had to use more than usual to remove my makeup- especially my eye makeup. This is one I wasn’t very fond of and wouldn’t purchase in the future.

Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream

Price: $20 for 0.34oz (mini size)

This cream really lives up to its name! Its a very rich cream that moisturizes and plumps the skin. As someone with an oilier skin type, this is a cream that I was only able to use at night. The nights I used this in my routine, it really helped me to achieve that glazed donut effect (which I love). This is a cream that I would love to have in a full size, but it’s on the pricier side.

Tatcha Water Cream

Price: $20 for 0.34oz (mini size)

This is my holy grail moisturizer. I can’t recommend this enough to those that have normal to oily skin types. This light weight cream is more like a gel texture that quickly absorbs into my skin and doesn’t leave me looking shiny or greasy. This is one of the reasons why this is my go to for my morning routines- especially during the spring and summer seasons. This is a staple in my routine!

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash

- Price Unknown for the mini trial size completed

Another product I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I really loved using this one! This a foaming gel cleanser that aims to dirt and impurities from the skin. I can speak on the resurfacing effects and this is probably because I only used this 1-2x a week in my morning routine. After cleansing with this cleanser my face never felt stripped or sensitive. Definitely a product I would love to have in the full size. The 6.7 oz size retails for $49!

Indie Lee CoQ10 Toner

Price: $34 for

I believe this may be my 3rd bottle that I’ve finished at this point. Still one of my favorite hydrating toners! I can’t say enough great things about this toner. This is one that remain constant within in my routine.

Bioderma Ultra Nourishing Shower Oil

 Price: $20 for 1 liter

I’ve ranted and raved about this shower oil more times than I can remember. I find myself using it in multiple ways within my shower routine and this size lasted me about a year.

Now that it’s summer, this is my go to when shaving my legs. The oils nourishes my skin while also providing a smooth close shave. I also love that this is fragrance free and tailored to those that have sensitive skin.

Boscia Papaya and Pomegranate Enzyme Exfoliating Body Cleanser

 Price: $35 for 8.4 oz

Described as a potent, resurfacing cleanser that is formulated with Mandelic and Lactic Acid to help gently clear and resurface the body.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I initially started using this body cleanser, so I started using it only a few days a week. I didn’t notice any sensitivity, so I was able to use it more frequent.

Based on the name and ingredients, I imagined it would have a sweet scent, but it was actually fragrance free. I really love the package on this cleanser in a squeeze bottle. As for the overall formula, I can’t really say I noticed a significant change. I have noticed that my skin is smoother and some of the scars that were left behind from KP (Keratosis Pilaris) has lightened up, I can’t attribute all of the success to this one product as I use many other body care products in my routine. I think $35 for this is extremely steep based on how it performs. I think if this was more on the $20-$25 level, I would repurchase in the future.

Detox Mode Here + There Balm

 Price: $30

This balm is marketed to be used all over- even on the face! It formulated with Vitamins A,B. C and D. It has a green earthy scent to it that I really enjoyed. I found the balm to super moisturizing and I loved using it on my elbows, feet and other dry areas of my body. The Here + There Balm left my skin feeling super soft and smooth for the entire day when used. I do think the price is on the steep side for the amount of product that is given.

Taos Aer Deodorant

Price: $19

The Taos Deodorants have been in my body care routine and will not be leaving anytime soon! I’ve been using natural deodorants for the past 3 years and I haven’t met anything that compares to them!

Grow Gorgeous Repair Hair and Scalp Mask

Price: $30 for 6.7 oz  for the full price- unsure of the price of the trial size that I completed

I was only able to get 1 use out of the mini that I had. But this hair and scalp mask is said to nourish the scalp, visibly increase thickness and is formulated with biotin, caffeine, hyaluronic acid rice protein. This ingrident mixture sounds amazing to me. Based on my 1 time usage of it, I can definitely say my hair felt softer. I do think in order to see the benefits that it claims this would need to be used regularly. Hopefully in the future I’ll be able to try out a full size.

Ecostyler Black Castor & Flaxseed Oil Gel

Price: $3.99 for 16oz

I’ve been using and loving this gel for the past several years. I really feel that the castor oil and flaxseed helps to provide some nourishment to my hair.

Unlike other gels, when using this one my hair doesn’t flake and is not super stiff. This is a great gel for enhancing curly and coily hair types. But if you’re looking for a gel that’s going to give you a maximum hold, then this may not be the one for you. I personally would rather not have my hair that stiff as that usually leads to breakage and flaking. For the price and size of this gel you can’t go wrong!

ETC.

Diptyque Muguet Candle

Price: $68

I believe this was a seasonal candle for the spring season. But this was such a lovely candle to burn. If you like the scent of lilies, this is definitely the scent for you. I would like also recommend one of my favorites from Diptyque, which is TUBÉREUSE / TUBEROSE and also in the floral scent family.
