March & April '24 Empties

Super late with my March and April Empties, but it’s here. During the past few months I’ve done some traveling and in the process I’ve gone through quite a few products. One of my favorite products that’s included within these two past months of empties has to be the Trader Joe’s Brazilian Nut Body Scrub. I go into detail in the post as to why I love it and why I think you will too.

Face Care Empties

Herbivore Pink Cloud Rose Water + Squalane Makeup Removing Face Wash

Price: $26 for 3.38oz

The Pink Cloud cleanser is described as multitasking face wash that helps to gently remove makeup, impurities all whilst hydrating the skin. The jelly like consistency feels like a creamy wash and is non-foaming. I really enjoyed using this cleanser for both morning routines and evening routines when I was looking for a more gentle option. Previous instagram review here

Tatcha The Texture Tonic AHA Liquid Exfoliating Treatment

Price: $62 for 5 oz

The Tatcha Texture Tonic is a liquid exfoliator that is formulated with fruit AHA’s and niacinamide that is targeted to those with combination and oily skin types. As per the directions, it says that it can be used both morning and night or midday for a skin refresh. I typically used the tonic during my morning routines with a cotton round. I found the formula to be pretty gentle. While using it I never experienced any type of sensitivity or tingling with my skin. I can say while I used it the texture tonic it worked pretty well and I think it did a pretty good job at keeping my skin looking and feeling smoother. But unfortunately, I don’t think the formula is worth the hefty price tag.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Saccharomyces/Rice Ferment Filtrate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Cladosiphon Okamuranus Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil, Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Juice, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Rosa Multiflora Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Juice, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Cymbopogon Martini Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Juice, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Oil, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Crataegus Cuneata Fruit Extract, Ziziphus Jujuba Fruit Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Belamcanda Chinensis Root Extract, Eriobotrya Japonica Leaf Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ppg-6-Decyltetradeceth-20, Peg-30 Glyceryl Isostearate, Peg-50 Glyceryl Isostearate, Propanediol, Sodium Citrate, Pentasodium Pentetate, Citric Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol.

Farmacy Green Clean Strawberry

Price: $24 for 1.7oz

At this point I’ve gone through so many jars for the Green Clean Cleansing Balm. I’ve tried several of the different scents and they all smell so good. The Green Cleansing Balm does a great job at breaking down and removing even stubborn makeup all without drying out my skin. If you’re interested in a more detailed review of Green Clean, check out here- January ’24 Empties

Replenix Hyaluronic Acid Hydration Serum

Price: $95 for 1oz

This just may be on the most expensive Hyaluronic Acid serums that I’ve ever tried, which makes me think what makes this one so different from a regular $15 dollar serum. According to the description, the serum is described to be a medical grade serum formulated with of a blend of hyaluronic acid and peptides. The serums claims to firm, tone and reduce excess oil production. I can say that I enjoyed the thicker consistency of this serum and I think it did a great job at deeply hydrating my skin. As much as I liked the thicker consistency and how well it hydrated my skin, I can’t ever see myself every paying $95 for a hyaluronic acid serum when I know there’s so many other affordable options.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Sodium PCA, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Extract, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-28, Ergothioneine, Glutathione, Zinc PCA, Copper PCA, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA.

Tatcha The Deep Cleanse

Price: $40 for 5 oz

The Deep Cleanse by Tatcha is described as a gel like cleanser that gently cleanses the skin with fruit exfoliants to leave the skin feeling soft and hydrated. The cleanser has the same familiar scent as with the other Tatcha products. The cleanser itself has a thicker consistency and contains small like granules that feels very soft on the skin. I think the cleanser worked well to cleanse my skin without it feeling stripped. With the usage of the Deep Cleanse several times a week in my night routines, the cleanser lasted me several months. As much as I enjoyed using the cleanser, I can’t see myself repurchasing it due to the high price point.

Ingredients: Water, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Propanediol, Glycerin, Acrylates Copolymer, Coco-Betaine, Saccharomyces/Camellia Sinensis Leaf/Cladosiphonokamuranus/Rice Ferment Filtrate*, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit, Sodium Lauroyl Hydrolyzed Silk, Rosa Multiflora Fruit Extract, Belamcanda Chinensis Root Extract, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Chloride, Polyglyceryl-10 Dioleate, Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquicaprylate, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tetrasodium Edta, Fragrance, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol.

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Eye Patches

Price: $55 for 30 pairs

The Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench line is one of my favorites from the brand. The line is known for being extremely hydrating and pretty compatible with all skin types. The formula of the Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches is formulated with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, caffeine and arnica. This combination is said to help provide moisture, treat puffiness, dark circles, and help soften the look of fine lines. Over the years I’ve gone through several jars of these patches. I really enjoy using these patches on the days I was able to have a slower morning and before filming. I think they live up to it’s claims of hydrating and depuffing, which are temporary. I can’t say that with usage over time it’s done anything for the fine lines under my eyes, but that is to be expected. I think the price point of $55 as being on the steeper side, but I often do see these on sale on Sephora and Ulta sites.

Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Caffeine, Ceramide Np, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Althaea Officinalis Root Extract, Allantoin, Tocopherol, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Angelica Gigas Root Extract, Cimicifuga Racemosa Root Extract, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Paeonia Lactiflora Root Extract, Phellinus Linteus Extract, Polygonum Multiflorum Root Extract, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Extract, Sophora Angustifolia Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Amorphophallus Konjac Root Powder, Carrageenan, Hydroxyacetophenone, Hexylene Glycol, Propanediol, Xylitylglucoside, Sucrose, Anhydroxylitol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Xylitol, Betaine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Glucose, Lecithin, Maltodextrin, Magnesium Aspartate, Zinc Gluconate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Copper Gluconate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Gellan Gum, Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum, Ceratonia Siliqua Gum, Calcium Chloride, Tin Oxide, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Bis(Glycidoxyphenyl)Propane/Bisaminomethylnorbornane Copolymer, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Disodium EDTA, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethyl Hexanediol Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Mica, Blue 1 (CI 42090), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491).

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

Price: $18 for 2oz

The Elemis cleansing balms are one of my favorites in terms of luxury beauty. Over the years I’ve gone through quite a few of the full sizes and I received this mini size as a gift with purchase. From this mini size I was able to get so many uses out of it! I love that this cleanser breaks down my make-up so well and the fact that it can even be used as a mask. The brand has recently launched in Sephora, so now it’s even easier to try them out. If you’re interested in reading up more about it, check out one of my previous posts on it - Nov & Dec ’23 Empties

Caudalie Pore Minimizing  Instant Detox Mask (mini)

Price: $22 for 1.18oz

The Caudalie Detox Mask has been a favorite of mine for the past few years! The mask is described as a clay mask that cleanses and tightens the pores in as little as 10 minutes. I do think it cleanses and tones my skin, but as we know you cannot tighten or loosen pores.

When I initially started using the mask 5 years ago, I was very much on the fence about it. But after trying various clay masks over the years, this one stands out the most to me. Clay masks are known for drawing out excessive oils and sebum from the skin and this mask works effectively to do so without drying out my skin in the process. The mini size lasted me several months with using 1 a week – every 2 weeks. With that being said, I do think the price of the mini is worth it. Since finishing this mask I’ve already opened a full size. It’s safe to say this will be a constant in my routine until further notice.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Kaolin, Bentonite, Glycerin, Acacia Senegal Gum, Xanthan Gum, Benzyl Alcohol, Alcohol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Ci 77491 (Iron Oxides), Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Limonene, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Linalool, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract, Coffea Robusta Seed Extract, Carbomer, Cupressus Sempervirens Oil, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil, Ci77499 (Iron Oxides), Commiphora Myrrha Oil, Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Papain, Petroselinum Crispum (Parsley) Seed Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Benzoate, Lactic Acid, Algin, Potassium Sorbate.

Typology A31 - Hydrating Serum with 3% Hyaluronic Acid + 2% B5

Price: $25.90 for the 0.05oz

The mini typology hyaluronic acid feels very similar to a lot of the serums that I’ve tried. The serum feels a tad thicker than most hyaluronic acids that I’ve tried. I loved having this mini size and it came in handy for many of travels. I would definitely consider repurchasing this one.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Xylitylglucoside, Benzyl Alcohol, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol, Sodium Citrate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Citric Acid.

Cerave Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum

Price: $28.99 for 1oz

The CeraVe Vitamin C serum is formulated with 10% pure vitamin (Ascorbic acid). The formulation also includes panthenol and ceramides, which are known for hydrating and soothing the skin. I found the serum to feel and give the same results of higher end vitamin c serums. As with most pure vitamin c formulas, this one indeed started to oxidize around the halfway point of using it. I also noticed that the packaging started getting cracks and leaking towards the end of my usage. Since finishing this tube, it appears that that the packaging has been updated.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water, Ascorbic Acid, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Alcohol Denat., Sodium Hydroxide, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Panthenol, Ceramide Np, Ceramide Ap, Ceramide Eop, Carbomer, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Cholesterol, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disodium Edta, Isopropyl Myristate, Caprylyl Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Phytosphingosine, Ethylhexylglycerin, (Code F.I.L. D231277/1)

Tatcha Mini Dewy Skin Mist

Price: $22 for .04oz

The Dewy Skin Mist is described as a fine mist moisturizer that can be used under or over makeup for dewy glowing skin. I agree that it lives up to these claims. While going through a few bottles over the years and trying it out under makeup and over makeup, I can easily say I prefer to use this more as a skincare-based product. This is not a setting mist- more like a fixing spray to melt powders down. But If your skin is like mine, which is normal to oily, I feel like this can easily go from dewy to oily very quickly. If you have dry or a normal skin type, I can see this working over makeup for you. I found myself using the dewy skin mist more as a toner mist on days when my skin needed more hydration. Being that the mist is so fine and the formula is so hydrating, I would say you only need 2-3 sprays max; therefore a mini size would last a decent amount of time.

Ingredients: AQUA/WATER/EAU, GLYCERIN, SQUALANE, PROPANEDIOL, DIMETHICONE, TRIETHYLHEXANOIN, POLYGLYCERYL-2 DIISOSTEARATE, PPG-5-CETETH-10 PHOSPHATE, SACCHAROMYCES/RICE FERMENT FILTRATE, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, CLADOSIPHON OKAMURANUS EXTRACT, CAMELLIA JAPONICA SEED OIL, SODIUM HYALURONATE, SERICIN, GLYCYRRHIZA GLABRA (LICORICE) ROOT EXTRACT, ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) GERM OIL, CHONDRUS CRISPUS EXTRACT, PANAX GINSENG ROOT EXTRACT, ROYAL JELLY EXTRACT, ZIZIPHUS JUJUBA FRUIT EXTRACT, THYMUS SERPYLLUM EXTRACT, SCUTELLARIA BAICALENSIS ROOT EXTRACT, TOCOPHEROL, TRIDECETH-12, SODIUM LAUROYL LACTYLATE, SORBITAN STEARATE, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, GLYCERYL STEARATE SE, SODIUM BENZOATE, GLUCONOLACTONE, PARFUM/FRAGRANCE, ALCOHOL, PHENOXYETHANOL, LIMONENE, LINALOOL

Makeup Empties

Shiseido Facial Cotton

Price: $9.00 for 60 Sheets

One of my favorite facial cottons. The squares are a decent size and I find myself only needing to use one at a time. I also love that the squares are very soft but also very durable at the same time. I never have any issues of them breaking up or tearing apart. As much as I love these cotton squares, I’m taking a break buying them full price. But thankfully I can usually find them at Marshall’s and TJ Max for a really good price. If you’re interested in hearing more about it, check out my previous review here in my January’ 24 Empties

Beautaniq Great Lengths Mascara

Price: $21

I received this in my Ipsy Bag sometime last year and it quickly became one of my favorite mascaras. The mascara claims to thicken, lengthen and strengthen your lashes. It’s formulated with Camellia and Almond Oil along with vitamin E and Oleic Acid. The wand brush has those little silicone/plastic like teeth. I love mascaras with wands like this. I feel like they do a better job to lengthen my lashes and providing volume. I found the formula of the Great Lengths Mascara to be really nice! I didn’t have any issues with flaking, and I feel like it made my lashes look really nice.

Benefit Mini 24-HR Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel with Lamination Effect

Price: $15 for the mini size

I feel like when it comes to lashes and brows, Benefit always makes such great products. The 24-hour brow setter grow gel is said to stay in place for 24 hours, dry quickly and is said to be mess free. The wand is dual sided. One end has short bristles and the other has long bristles. I feel like this combination makes it great to grab both short and long brow hairs. The brow gel always did such a great job at holding my brows in place and never had an issue with it flaking. Even with this being a mini size it lasted for quite a while. I hope they decided to make this formula in a tinted formula in the future.

Body  Care Empties

Caudalie The Des Vignes Hand and Nail Cream

Price: $16 for the set of three 1oz tubes

The cream itself has a nice medium level of thickness. I love how well the cream absorbs into my hands and how well it moisturizes without making my hands feel greasy. I love that the moisture of the hand cream lasts on my hands for a decent amount of time after its been applied. The des Vignes scent from Caudalie has to be one of my favorites!

The des Vignes scent has such a nice spa like relaxing scent to it. I already own the matching shower gel and matching fragrance! This cream was actually a part of trio kit that contains 3 of the Caudalie hand creams. I believe the set is only around during the holiday season. If you’re able to find this trio, I highly recommend it as it only retails for $16!

Josie Maran Intensive Creamy Oil

Price: $28 for 2.2 fl. oz.

The Intensive Creamy Oil starts almost as a cream/salve that transforms into an oil that sinks into the skin beautifully. It’s formulated with vitamin E, antioxidants, and essentials fatty acids. It says it can be used from head to toe – even on the face. Wasn’t sure what to expect with this one, but I had a feeling it would be good since Josie Maran rarely disappoints me. Being that the this is essentially an oil based product, I feel like it worked so well for my skin during the winter months when the air is super dry. I typically used this on drier areas of my body like my feet, elbows and the back of legs. Since I only used the creamy oil in select areas the tube lasted me for quite a few months.

Ingredients: Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil**, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit**, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate**, Beeswax**, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)**, Glyceryl Dibehenate**, Tribehenin**, Glyceryl Behenate**, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Peel Oil**, Tocopherol, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil**, Abyssinian Oil (Crambe Abyssinica) Seed Oil**, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil**, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract**, Soybean Glycerides**, Linoleic Acid**, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil** Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter**, Aleurites Moluccana Seed (Kukui Nut) Oil**, Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia) Seed Oil**.

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow Body

Price: $42 for 4.7oz

Use my code to save 20% on your orders – Beautyetcblog20

The Honeymoon Glow Body is a 12% AHA/BHA resurfacing serum that contains key actives ingredients such as 10% lactic acid and 2% salicylic acid. This combination claims to help soften the skin whilst eliminating bumpy skin. The serum to me felt almost like a like weight lotion that hydrated decently on its own. Being that Honeymoon Glow Body hydrated pretty well, I never had to use a separate body moisturizer with it. I tried to use the serum several times a week and it did help to keep my skin feeling smooth. I really don’t think it did much for the areas of KP (keratosis pilaris) that I have. With usage of it several time a week the tube lasted me several months.

I only have one con about the formula and it’s the scent. I’m not one that usually impacted by the scent of products, especially if I find that they’re effective and working well. For a while I wasn’t sure I received a bad batch because of the scent. I even checked out many of the reviews of it and many people commented on the scent as well. I do smell some of the honey undertones, but it almost just smells like its expired. Even with not liking the scent, it didn’t deter me from using it as I don’t think the scent lingered for a long period of time. I have another unopened bottle of it that I will likely end up using.

Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau Isopentyldiol Lactic Acid Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter C13-15 Alkane Glycerin Propanediol Potassium Hydroxide Isoamyl Laurate Salicylic Acid 1,2-Hexanediol Arachidyl Alcohol Sodium Acrylates Copolymer Honey Extract Propolis Extract Royal Jelly Extract Tocopherol Bisabolol Opuntia Ficus-Indica Stem Extract Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract Lauroyl Lysine Arachidyl Glucoside Cellulose Gum Lecithin Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-1 Flavor/Aroma* Ormenis Multicaulis Oil Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate Inulin Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract Behenyl Alcohol Cellulose Fructose Glucose Corallina Officinalis Extract Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Flower/Leaf Extract Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract Cetearyl Alcohol Xanthan Gum Maltodextrin Limonene

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 40 Body Splash

Price: $24 for 3oz

The Cheriosa 40 is my second favorite scent from the Sol de Janeiro lines with key notes of Black Amber Plum, Vanilla Woods, Jasmine Blooms. The scent gives me sultry, sexy, island vibes. I also found that the scent to last a decent amount of time and to layer well with other scents. I actually had a little of product still left in this bottle, but I noticed the scent started changing and smelling a little off. I’ve had this bottle open for quite a few years at this point, so I’m not surprised. I also have a few back ups in my collection and I’m looking forward to wearing them during the summer months.

Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream

Price:  N/A - gift with purchase size

The Coco Cabana used to be my favorites scent from the Sol line, but for some reason unbeknownst to me they decided to discontinue the scent. This made me hoard and hold on to all of the products that I have from the Coco Cabana line. I really loved how well this scent lingered and yummy it smelled. Thankfully I still have a few of the splashes and and body creams in the coco cabana scent.

Lush Dream Cream Body Lotion

Price: $10 for 1.5 oz (included with the The All Rounder Bodycare Discovery Kit)

The Dream Cream is said to soothe and moisturize the skin - even for those that have sensitive skin. The cream itself is very lightweight and moderately moisturized my skin. I felt the performance of it was pretty underwhelming and would likely not purchase it in the future.

Ingredients: Oat Milk, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Rose Water, Glycerine, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Rose Absolute, Chamomile Blue Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Lavender Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Tincture of Benzoin, *Benzyl Alcohol, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Citronellol, *Geraniol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Fragrance

Chanel La Creme Main Texture Riche Hand Cream

Price: $62 for 1.7oz

I purchased this hand cream as a birthday gift for myself a few years ago. The cream is formulated with Camellia ceramides, which helps to protect the barrier of the skin. The cream itself is lightly scented, which I really liked as many of the Chanel fragrances can be quite overwhelming. The egg size of the cream was a bit cumbersome and squeezing out product towards to the end became impossible. I enjoyed using the cream, but with the price increase of many of the Chanel products this is just one I can’t justify.

Ingredients: AQUA (WATER) | GLYCERIN | CETEARYL ALCOHOL | GLYCOL STEARATE SE | ALCOHOL | BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER | ISOSTEARYL ISOSTEARATE | PENTYLENE GLYCOL | JOJOBA ESTERS | CAMELLIA OLEIFERA SEED OIL | LAUROYL LYSINE | IRIS PALLIDA ROOT EXTRACT | FAEX (YEAST EXTRACT) | CERAMIDE NP | PHYTOSPHINGOSINE | SODIUM POLYACRYLATE | PHYTOSTERYL CANOLA GLYCERIDES | PROPANEDIOL | CHLORPHENESIN | CAPRYLYL GLYCOL | PARFUM (FRAGRANCE) | TOCOPHEROL | SODIUM HYALURONATE | PHYTIC ACID | 1,2-HEXANEDIOL | HYDROGENATED LECITHIN | SODIUM HYDROXIDE | SODIUM CITRATE | SODIUM BENZOATE | ASCORBYL PALMITATE | BS000354A

Bath and Body Works Twisted Peppermint Body Wash

Price: $10 for 10oz

Being the fragrance lover that I am, I love having opened a really fragrant body wash in my shower at all times. I’m often reaching for many of the shower gels from Bath and Body Works. They have so many great scents and I find so many of their scents to layer well with many of my higher end lotions and perfumes. The Twisted Peppermint body wash was part of their 2022 Holiday Collection, but knowing BBW they’ll likely bring it back for more winter holidays.

The body wash has notes of Cool Peppermint, sugared snow, fresh balsam, vanilla buttercream. The incorporation of peppermint really made the scent into more of an awakening scent. I loved this for morning showers. There’s something about the scent that I found to be uplifting and just very clean. If you’re thinking about trying out this scent, check out the winter season.

Trader Joe’s Brazilian Nut Body Scrub

Price: $5.99 for 8oz

I’ve been such a big fan of this scrub from Trader Joe’s. It’s been in and out of my routine for the past couple of years. After not using it for a while and then recently finishing a jar has made me realize how much I really do love it. I love the level of grit it provides and the fact that it’s infused with oil. The Nut Body Scrub does a great job at exfoliating my skin all whilst it moisturizes my skin at the same time. I already have a few in my stash, so I’m ready to add another back into my shower. If you’re thinking of picking up the scrub, it should be back in stock during the upcoming summer months, so keep an eye out for it!

If you’re interested in seeing a previous review on it, check it out HERE.

Lush The Olive Branch Body Wash

Price: $12.50 for 3.3oz (included within the The All Rounder Bodycare Discovery Kit)

Lush products recently launched at Ulta beauty and I had the opportunity to try out a few products. The Olive Oil Branch body wash is formulated with olive oil and a warm citrus scent. The scent smells so good and the body wash has a orange color swirling to it. Upon my first use I noticed that body wash seemed extremely thin and almost runny. I feel like I had to use more product than I usually would. It’s hard to say if this how the shower gel normally is, but I really didn’t like the consistency of this one. The shower gel performed decently, but I don’t think I would purchase this on my own.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glycerine, Vine Leaf Infusion (Vitis Vinifera), Fair Trade Olive Oil (Olea Europaea), Fragrance, Lauryl Betaine, Fresh Mandarin Juice (Citrus Reticulata), Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium Bergamia), Lemon Oil (Citrus Limonum), Orange Flower Absolute (Citrus Aurantium Amara), Sicilian Red Mandarin Oil (Citrus Nobilis), Lactic Acid, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, *Limonene, *Linalool, Red 4.

Fenty Skin Cherry Dub Triple Action AHA Body Scrub
Price: $36 for 8.5oz
The Fenty Cherry Dub Scrub is formulated with both physical and  fruit chemical exfoliants [AHA’s]. The combination is said to exfoliate and nourish the skin. The scrub has a really nice cherry scent, which was one of the things I really enjoyed about the scrub. I found the scrub to be very gentle. I feel like even with the incorporation of pumice as a physical exfoliator, it really didn’t do much in terms of exfoliating. I think the grit level was really lacking. I have several areas of KP [keratosis pilaris] on my body and I don’t feel like this did much or anything at all to help address it. This scrub is probably would probably be better suited for those that are looking for a more gentle scrub option.
Ingredients: (Potato) Pulp Extract, Glycolic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Lactic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Ceteareth-20, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Prunus Avium (Sweet Cherry) Seed Oil, Malpighia Punicifolia (Acerola) Fruit Extract, Bromelain, Papain, Lactobacillus/Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract, Prunus Cerasus (Bitter Cherry) Shell Powder, Litchi Chinensis Seed Powder, Furcellaria Lumbricalis Extract, Tocopherol, Coconut Acid, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Raphanus Sativus (Sunflower) Root Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Caprylyl Glycol, Maltodextrin, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Sodium Benzotriazolyl Butylphenol Sulfonate, Sodium Isethionate, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum/Fragrance, Red 40 (Ci 16035), Yellow 5 (Ci 19140), Red 33 (Ci 17200).

Hair Care Product Empties

Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Detangling Spray

Price: $25 for 5.9oz

The Be Gentle, Be Kind Detangling Spray is a fragrance free and essential oil free leave in detangler spray. It’s formulated with key ingredients like aloe vera, oat milk and green tea extract. This combination provides vitamins, hydration, and antioxidants to the hair. I really love that this detangler has a spray formula and I found it so much easier to apply to my hair. The formula itself is not too light and it’s also not too heavy for my hair. I think it did a good job at helping to detangle my hair. I more so used it for the leave in conditioner benefits and used it more as a refresher when my curls needed extra hydration mid-week. I do think this is worth the price and I think I may repurchase it in the future.

Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau, Polyglyceryl-6 Stearate*, Isopropyl Palmitate*, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil*, Glycerin*, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil*, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Avena Sativa (Oat) Bran Extract*, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Cetrimonium Chloride*, Cetearyl Alcohol*, Panthenol, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate*, Glyceryl Stearate*, Polyglyceryl-6 Behenate*, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citric Acid*, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Caprylhydroxamic Acid*, Benzyl Alcohol

Curls Control Paste Pomade

Price: $8.99 for 4oz

A forever purchase for me. As I finish one jar, I quickly purchase another. This is one of my favorite products that I use to slick my hair back. Vegamour Gro Hair Serum for Thinning Hair

Price: $64 for 1oz

This serum comes with some very high claims. It’s said to improve the appearance of the hair density and reduce the signs of shedding to help promote thicker looking hair in as a little as 90 days. The serum is formulated with key ingredients like turmeric, caffeine, and a blend of red clover and mung bean. The serum itself is very runny – almost water like. I found that helped it to absorb into my scalp very quickly. From this 1 oz bottle I was able to get almost 2 worths of applications using it 1x per day. I feel like in the process it did a great job at moisturizing my scalp and helping with shedding. But it’s hard to say if really did much for hair regrowth. I feel like with products like this you need to use them continuously for at least 3 – 6 months. If I’m able to pick up another bottle, I definitely report back if there’s been a change.

Candle Empties

Good Chemistry Eucalyptus Bliss Candle

Price: $16.99 for 9.4oz

This candle was my introduction to the Good Chemistry brand. They’re said to have fun and affordable fragrances with a cruelty free formula. The Eucalyptus Bliss candle has notes of sea salt air, melon, muguet, grapefruit, oak moss, and lavandin. This scent gave me serene spa like vibes. I really enjoyed burning this candle and the throw on it was pretty good. Based on the price, the scent and how well the candle burned, I really think this is worth the price!

Mala the Brand - Honey Nut Candle

Price: $22 for 4.3 oz ( from the 4 pack that retails for $88)

I love that Mala the Brand candles has wood wicks. It adds a little touch to the to the whole burning of the candle. I was on the fence about the honey nut scent. It has notes of sweet milk and vanilla to give off a honey sweet nutty scent. The throw on the candle is decent. Being that this is only 4.3 oz size, I decided to only burn in a smaller location of my home and I think it worked well for the space. After trying out several of the Mala the Brand Candles I noticed there’s some inconsistencies in terms of the burning of the wick. I noticed that the when relighting the candle its best to burn closer to the base of the wood wick instead of the top of the wood wick. Once I figured this part the burning experience went smoothy.
