Post-Gym Skincare Routine

If you're reading this post, then it's likely that you read my initial post on my Pre-Gym Skincare Routine (click here). Taking care of your skin after the gym is just important if not more as taking care of skin prior to working out. After a sweaty intense work-out, especially in the summer, my first thought is getting clean!

FYI: Keep in mind I have normal/combination skin. I tend to seek out products that are suitable for oily skin types, but I also like to add in extra levels of hydration into my skincare routine.

Cleanser

After a work-out or even just being outside on a hot humid day, my ideal cleanser is a product that offers a deep clean. At the moment I have two cleansers that I really like. One is really high end in terms of the price and the other is really affordable.

High-End Cost Deep Cleanser

The Tatcha Deep Cleanse is gentle enough to use everyday. It's an oil-free gel texture that is suitable for all skin types. As with all of the other Tatcha products, the Deep Cleanse contains the signature Hadasei-3 (blend of anti-aging). What I like about the cleanser is that it's hydrating, clarifying and helps to balance the skin.

Ingredients: Water, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Propanediol, Glycerin, Acrylates Copolymer, Coco-Betaine, Saccharomyces/Camellia Sinensis Leaf/Cladosiphonokamuranus/Rice Ferment Filtrate*, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit, Sodium Lauroyl Hydrolyzed Silk, Rosa Multiflora Fruit Extract, Belamcanda Chinensis Root Extract, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Chloride, Polyglyceryl-10 Dioleate, Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquicaprylate, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tetrasodium Edta, Fragrance, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol.

Sephora Collection Radiance Cleansing Foam $8.00 | Tatacha Deep Cleanse (full size) $38.00

Low-end Cost Cleanser

I've been using the SEPHORA COLLECTION Radiance Cleansing Foam several times a week for a deep cleanse for the past few months. The Radiance Cleanser contains AHA from Citrus Extracts of orange, lemon and  grapefruit. This blend helps to provide a gentle level of exfoliation.

The best thing about the cleanser is that it can also be used as a mask by applying the foam to dry skin and leaving it on for 30 seconds prior to washing it off.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, Sorbitol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, PEG-8, Polysorbate 20, Coco-Glucoside, Pullulan, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Myristate, Potassium Laurate, Caprylyl Glycol, Parfum (Fragrance), Sodium Benzoate, Butylene Glycol, Citric Acid, Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide, Sodium Hydroxide, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose.

Masking

After Cleansing and coming out of the shower, I love doing a face mask while my pores are still open from the shower steam. The Laneige Water Clay Mask has been my favorite for the past 6 months. Even with it being a clay mask, it's still very hydrating. (Full Review). Lately, I've been following up my clay masks or exfoliating masks with a sheet mask.

I've really like the idea and results from double masking. If you would be interested in the products that I like to use, please leave me a comment below!

Laniege Mini Pore Water Clay Mask $25 |  Etude House Sheet Mask $1-$2 per mask

I really like the Etude House sheet masks. These sheet masks are very hydrating and cost effective. I've tried many of their different air masks and they are all lightweight and are great for all skin types.

Toner and Essence

I've mentioned the Son & Park Beauty Water numerous times and that's because it's still my favorite toner. Since using it I really have noticed a change in the texture of my skin and how it responds to the other products within my skincare routine. I have a full review of the Beauty Water (here).

I'm really new to the whole Essence step in my skincare routine. But since I've been going to get professional facials I have been recommended to start using both (toner and essence). For those interesting in adding this step to your routine, the brand and formula all depends on you and your skin care needs. The most important thing about an Essence treatment is that it will treat your skin on a cellular level.

The Fresh Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence is hydrating and also provides benefits against pollution and aging. As much as I like the product, I do not think I'll be diving into the full size of this particular essence due to the costly price tag of $68.00 for only 5 ounces of product.

TIP: An Essence is be applied to the skin with your fingertips and is to be pressed directly into your skin. Using a cotton ball will actually soak up too product.

Ingredients: Water, Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Glycerin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Polyglycerin-3, Kigelia Africana Fruit Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Adenosine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, Butylene Glycol, Diglycerin, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum (Fragrance), Disodium EDTA, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Citrate, BHT, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Biotin, Phenoxyethanol, Linalool, Citronellol, Geraniol.
