High End Body Care featuring Ren Skincare
I invest and research so much of my time into my facial skincare products. I would have to say that I easily spend more money on facial skincare care products versus body care products. Over the past couple of months I was able to pick up several products from the brand Ren Clean Skincare. They’re a brand that I’ve seen pretty frequently on Instagram, so I thought I would try out a few of their body care products. I was lucky to purchase one of the items with a great coupon code and the others during a sample sale here in NYC. If you’re interested in learning more about this brand, please keep reading.
About Ren Clean Skincare
Ren Clean Skincare products are made with natural bio-actives and no harsh chemicals. Their goal is zero waste by 2021. Therefore, they are very big on using 100% recyclable packaging.
Their product price range is very much in the upper level of affordability. Their products are often sold at higher end retailers like Sephora and department stores. As I browsed through the Ren Skincare website, I was happy to see that they offer both value sets and mini sets. This is something I would like to look into for the future when I’m ready to try their facial care products.

I purchased the Ren Clean Skincare Body Serum after hearing so many raved reviews about it! I would never imagine myself paying $42 for a body serum and in fact I didn’t. I paid $30 with the use of a promo code. The AHA body serum is made with natural AHA’s from Lactic Acid (AHA) from Yeast, Probiotic Extract and Xylitol from Vegetable Bark. What made me want to purchase it was how much everyone I have seen raved about how great it is for treating KP (Keratosis pilaris-which is often described as chicken skin). KP is a common condition that causes dry scaly tiny bumps. They’re often found on various areas of the body. This condition develops when the skin produces too much of a protein called keratin, which can block hair follicles and cause bumps to develop.
I have this on my back of the upper arms and the back of thighs. The number one solution to this condition is to exfoliate. These are areas that are also known to also be sensitive and I find that exfoliating with physical exfoliatants to not be that effective. I’ve been using this serum for the past couple of months. I typically used the serum only a few days out of the week due to summer sun exposure and the AHA’s it contains. Even with only using it a few days out of the week, I noticed that my skin first became much softer to the touch in these areas and then gradually became smoother. The bumps have also become less noticeable. Now that the summer is over and I’ll be wearing more coverage clothing, I plan on using it daily (in the morning). This is not a product that you will see results overnight. It’s a product that will need to be used daily in order to see the results.
Being that the consistency of the serum is more like a liquid lotion the 7oz bottle could last a decent amount of time. Especially if you’re only applying the product to targeted areas. I do think this AHA serum is worth the $30 that I spent and I do believe you should be able to see results before completing the first bottle. Unfortunately, I do think $42 is steep, but luckily Ren frequently has sales and this is also a product that can be purchased at Sephora and they have a few sales during the year.

I purchased the Ren Morrocan Rose Perfect Dry Body Oil during a sample sale during the spring of this year for about $20. I have to say I really enjoyed using this oil. I really like that the oil doesn’t have a scent. This means I was able to use this oil and it didn’t interfere with the scent of my other body care products. The best way for me to apply the oil was to damp skin directly after the shower. I didn’t find this oil to to be too oily or messy. I like that the glass container comes with a spray applicator and it made applying it very easy. I used the oil several times a week and the bottle lasted about 6 months. I do think this is a great oil, however I do not think it’s worth $60. That price tag is a little too steep for just a body oil. I would purchase this again in the future, but only if it were on sale.

REview
I purchased the Ren Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish at the same time as the Dry oil. I don’t hate this scrub but I also don’t love it. During the past several months I’ve tried various body scrubs that were priced moderate to high end. I find this one to just be okay. The scrub is pretty fine and would probably be best suited for someone with sensitive skin. I found that the level of exfoliation that it provided to be light- especially on damp skin. In order to get a deeper exfoliation I found that this would need to be applied to dry skin prior to getting into the shower. I typically apply my body exfoliators while in the shower.
The scrub itself has a scent that is light and pleasant. The scrub also what looks to be a light level of oil on the surface of the scrub. This formulation really helps to my skin feel very soft after the scrub is rinsed off the skin. I find the results that the scrub delivers is not inclined with the high price tag. My goal over the next month or so is to finish this body polish so I can move on to other products. This is not a product that I would purchase in the future even with a discount.
