Gentle Skincare PM Routine
I know I haven’t officially published a night time skincare routine. There’s a pretty good reason behind it. It’s because I’m constantly swapping out and testing different products at night. This is the area of my routine along with the time of my day where I really can get to experiment and test out different products. As much as I love exfoliating and a routine that includes acids, I also like to give my skin a break to just REST. The objective of this routine is to hydrate and calm the skin. I do this routine or something similar usually one day during the week - preferably Wednesday’s.

First & Double Cleansing
Fresh Soy Cleanser & Fresh Strawberry Sugar Cleanser
My double cleansing usually starts with a cleansing balm or a jelly like cleanser that is gentle. This initial step is to break down make-up and remove the many layers of sunscreen from the skin. The second step in my double cleansing is to really cleanse the skin. Lately, I’ve really been enjoying the Fresh Strawberry Sugar Cleanser or the Tatcha Rice Powder in Deep. Both products really help to cleanse the skin along with providing a very light level of physical exfoliation
Fresh Soy Cleanser* | Price: $38 for 5oz
I’ve used the Fresh Soy Cleanser on and off for years. I feel like I’ve somehow have received multiple minis from redeeming points at Sephora and compilation kits. I look at the Soy Fresh Cleanser as a “basic” no fuss cleanser. The cleanser is great for removing makeup (with the exception of heavy eye makeup-mascara). It’s not stripping and the cucumber scent is quite pleasant. This cleanser is loved by many and I can easily understand. It works well with so many different skin types and it’s not drying. I personally find the cleanser okay. I don’t love it and I don’t hate it. My feeling of indifference mostly coincides with the pricetag. I think the price tag of $40 for a basic gently cleanser to be on the higher side.

Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash |Price: $33 for 4.2oz
The Fresh Strawberry Sugar Cleanser smells exactly like the name, Fresh Strawberries. The texture can be altered based on the amount of water used. I find that using this cleanser as the second step in my cleansing routine it helps to remove any make-up residue and dirt that can be left behind along with helping to exfoliate and remove excess sebum from the skin. This is a great physical exfoliant. I don’t find it to be too harsh. I find the texture and results gentle enough to use every other day.
Contains Fragrance and strongly not recommended to anyone with a strawberry allergy.

Laneige Cream Skin | Price: $25 via YesStyle
Can be used in multiple ways:
-Gently pat into the skin
-Wet cotton pads with the skin refiner and apply the pads to the skin. Leave on the skin for 2 minutes then pat the remainder of the skin
-Use as a Mist to Refill Moisture
The Laneige Cream Skin Toner in a fairly new product to my routine. I’ve been using it for a little over a month and I haven’t been able to put it down. This particular toner has been actually been formulated to use as a toner + moisturizer. The concept is that with using this you will not need to follow-up with a moisturizer. I like the concept and perhaps it would work great if you were someone with extremely oily skin and lived in a very humid climate. I have normal-oily skin and the air conditions where I live vary, but is pretty much normal to dry. Therefore, I always follow-up with a moisturizer after using it. The scent of the toner is pretty light. I use this by applying a few drops to my palms and then work it into the skin by patting it in. I tend to do two layers of this. The formula is light and feels almost like water. But once applied to the skin it makes my skin to feel lightly hydrated.

Essence
Fresh Black Tea Kombucha Antioxidant Essence Mini*| Price: $32 for 1.6oz
Further Reading: What is an Essence?
Described as An antioxidant essence prep step that delivers eight benefits, including pollution protection for smooth, luminous skin.
I’ve been using an essence in my skincare routine for a little over a year. It’s a step that’s not too common within “American” skincare. I’m very fond of the Korean 10-Step Skincare routine, which involves the usage of essence immediately following toner. I tried a trial size of the Fresh Black Tea kombucha essence months ago. At the time I really liked it, but I couldn’t bring myself to spend almost $70 a product that was basically just made of up water. Months down the line they introduced travel sizes. I’m more comfortable spending $32 on a smaller size (or less if I’m able to purchase during a sale).

Moisturizer
Fresh Youth Lotus Dream Night Cream*| Price: full size $48, mini $19
The Fresh Youth Lotus Cream smells exactly like the Fresh Soy Cleanser. The textured is almost on the whip side and not very heavy. When applied to the skin, the cream absorbs very nicely. I’ve used the cream alone and in conjunction with my facial oils. It’s a cream that is perfect for night. The overall feeling of the cream is not too heavy; which I think would make it appealing to all skin types. Immediately after using it my face looks and feels plump and has a nice level of bounce to it. I’m really enjoying this cream and I full intend on finishing it to the end. I may purchase this cream in the future.
