Express Facial: @ Credo Beauty with Indie Lee Beauty Products

If you’re anything like me, then not only do you love beauty products, you probably love beauty treatments. I absolutely love getting facials. I look at facials not only as self-care for my skin, but I also find that they relax me and provide mental clarity. A few weeks ago I came across an offer for an express Facial at Credo Beauty by one of my Instagram Beauty Buddies. Keep reading to read about the details of my facial, the products used and the product(s) purchased at the end.

The terms for the Express Facial at Credo Beauty was a 30 minute facial using Indie Lee Products. The facial is free with a $30 Indie Lee purchase or the option of just paying $30 for the facial. The focus on the facial is to boost skin’s radiance and clarity.

The Express Facial

Prior to the facial the specialist and I discussed my skin, texture, problems/concerns and what I’m looking to achieve.

Names and Prices of Products Used During the Facial

Brightening Cleanser $34 for 4.2 ounces

Lotion CoQ10 Toner $34 for 4.2 ounces

Gentle Daily Peel Pads $65 for 60 pads

Clearing Mask $60 for 1.7 ounces

Daily Vitamin Infusion $65 for 1 ounce

I-Waken Eye Serum $48

Cleansing

The facial started with specialist removing the little make-up (brows) that I had on when I arrived to the appointment. I have combination skin that is predominately normal with my t-zone being oily. The specialist and I decided on the Brightening Cleanser as I was really eager to try it out. I was also informed that the Rose Hip Cleanser would work with my skin texture and concerns.

Masking

Prior to start of the facial we discussed my usage of masking and treatments/acids within my routine. As a back story, I use Retinol 2x a week, a Glycolic serum 2-3x a week and 1x a week I do an intensive AHA/BHA blend mask. My skin is not sensitive and handles acids/actives very well since I’ve been using them for years. This is certainty not a routine I would recommend to someone just starting out in their skincare journey. But I’ve found this it’s been working well for me.

The Gentle Daily Peel was used first. These peel wipes are made from a mixture of BHA/AHA along with Vitamin C to gently exfoliate. I found them to be quite gentle- there was no tingly feeling as I would usually feel with most acids. Immediately after the Gentle Peel, the Clearing Mask was applied for 10 minutes. The clearing mask is made from a blend of Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Bentonite Clay and Colloidal Sulfur. After the treatment I looked into the directions of the mask and the directions called for the mask to be left on for 20 minutes. My guess is that this couldn’t be done as the facial was express and only 30 minutes.

Extra: During the mask treatment I was given a quick hand massage with the Squalane Oil. This oil left my hands feeling so soft. If I didn’t already have a few other squalane oils from other brands at home, I would’ve purchased it!

Toner

The toner that was used is the CoQ10 Toner. I’ve been using this toner since January and I absolutely love it! It’s hydrating and could easily be used as a toner/essence all in one. The CoQ10 Toner is made for all skin types to balance and hydrate. I love that the CoQ10 protects the skin from damaging free radicals!

Serum/oils

Face- The Daily Vitamin Infusion is a light weight oil made from a blend of oils like Squalane, Rose-hip Seed Oil, Ceramide, Avocado oil and more. This serum left my face noticeably soft. This is a product that I think I may purchase a mini of in the future.

Eyes- The I-Waken Eye Serum is a hydrating eye serum aimed to target dark circles, puffy eyes and fine lines. I found the initial application hydrating and lightweight. Based on these factors I think this would make a great eye serum to use during the morning. This is another product I would like to test out.

Moisturizer/SPf

No moisturizer or SPF was used at the end of the facial. There was no explanation as to why. After the treatment it was cloudy outside as it was raining on and off during the day. I’m unsure if a moisturizer was not applied because the specialist that did my facial did not think I need it or forgot. The lack of SPF usage really made me wonder. I wear SPF on sunny days and cloudy days, but I don’t understand why these products were not applied. Even with all that being said, my face felt very soft after the treatment and had a nice glow.

Overall….

Although the express treatment went by fairly quickly, I really like the concept of being able to try out so many products from Indie Lee during one visit. The specialist who performed my facial seemed very knowledgeable about the products and the ingredients that were being used. However, I disliked that the mask was not able to be applied for the full time. Being that the mask was only used for half of the recommended time, I really can’t form much of an opinion on it.

It would’ve been helpful if the products used during the facial were written down for me. This step would especially be helpful to those that are new to getting facials or even just someone overwhelmed by all of the products that were used. I’m happy I decided to take pictures of the products used as I can now refer to them for later use. Lastly, I asked about the Stem Cell Serum and was given a sample to try it out.

The overall treatment was quick, but maybe a little too quick to really form an opinion regarding most of the products used. I would compare this facial treatment to the Sephora 15 minute facials. The Express Facial at Credo Beauty is $30 or free with a purchase of $30 or more. I had my eye on a few Indie Lee products that I was interested in trying out and purchasing. Therefore, it was almost like getting the facial for free. The overall visit and experience was pleasant.

The promotion also included a free travel CoQ10 Toner and travel Brightening Cleanser with the purchase of 2 full size products. I knew I was going to purchase the Brightening Cleanser as it removes makeup, impurities, sunscreen, and daily pollution all in one step. For someone like myself who wears little to no make-up and daily sunscreen, I like that this is a one step cleansing for me. I purchased some other products and was also able to obtain the extra add-ons.
