Drunk Elephant Body Care Review
If you didn’t already know, Drunk Elephant has expanded their Skincare line to now include Body and Hair Care products. They were so generous to send me the entire line of both. I plan on reviewing both lines, but I’m starting off with the Body Care Line first. I feel that with body care products you can gauge your thoughts on a product within a shorter time frame in comparison to haircare.
I love that Drunk Elephant has decided to expand their line. I take pride in the skincare products that I use on my face and I love the idea of expanding this notion to the rest of my body. I also like that many of the products within the hair care line is interchangeable. This is something I will discuss in a later post when I expand upon my thoughts on those products.
For this review post I will solely be focused on the products from the line from their Body Care Line:
Sweet Pitti Deodorant Cream
Price: $16 for 2oz.
I’ve been using natural deodorant for the past 2 years. During this time frame I’ve tried out several natural deodorants that are on the market that range from drug store to high end prices. Like with the other items in the Drunk Elephant line, the Sweet Pitti smells of a light almond scent. The Sweet Pitti is marketed as being free of baking soda, essentials oils, aluminum and to be great for those that have sensitive skin.
But does it work??
The formula of the deodorant cream is made with a blend of mandelic acid, which is aimed to eliminate odor causing bacteria and moisture from the skin. Mandelic Acid is in the family of AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) and it penetrates deep to stop odor causing bacteria. The Arrowroot Powder Ingredient is known for very absorbency, which is extremely important when using a natural deodorant as they do not contain aluminum which clogs pores and blocks sweat.
I’ve been testing this for several weeks now. I typically apply deodorant only once a day (after I just finish showering). Being that my body is used to natural deodorants, I feel like I can gauge my thoughts on it based on several weeks of usage. The formula is cream based and is semi wet upon application. While it’s drying the formula looks white and once it completely dries the formula becomes clear. I usually prefer stick formula deodorant, but I find that this one dries pretty fast.
Throughout my time of using the Sweet Pitti deodorant I can say it works well. I never experienced any sensitivity to the formula. I think the formula is comparable to the prior natural deodorant that I was using. I know with natural deodorants they are not anti-perspirant and will not stop you from sweating. I haven’t noticed any excess sweating or wetness, so I can say it holds up to its claims with regards to helping with moisture.
Is worth the price?
I noticed that I only need to turn the dial of the deodorant once for enough product to be dispensed and used for both of my underarms. $16 is pretty pricey for a deodorant. This is more expensive than my current deodorant along with being smaller in quantity size. I think this performs well for the price, but I’m interested in how long it will last (months wise) and how the formula holds in extreme conditions- like working out or during the summer.

Kamili™ Cream Body Cleanser
Price: $20 for 8oz.
Described as a gentle body cleanser that is formulated with an oil blend of marula, sweet almond Sacha Inchi seed (from Sacha Inchi fruit) and maracuja oils. The formula is more of a cream-based cleanser. Once activated with water the cleanser forms a small level of suds. The first couple of times I added a lot of the cleanser to my washcloth because the formula appeared to be very thin. I thought the thin consistency meant that the cleanser wouldn’t suds up or that I would need more than what I’m used to.
However, I was wrong. The body cleanser somewhat activates with water and begins to have a small level of suds. I really like this body cleanser scent (almond) and the formula being moisturizing. The packaging of the slim bottle makes it easy to store in my shower caddy.
I do think that the body cleanser being $20 as being pretty pricey. But I really do like this and I would purchase this on my own. I don’t have any skin issues, but my skin is very dry. I find that this formula helps to combat this well. I really look forward to using this daily. Being that only a little of bit of product is needed, I can see this lasting for several months at a time.
As with the otherDrunk Elephant products, this is also formulated without sulfates, silicones, essential oils, fragrance, dyes and drying alcohols. Cruelty-free.

Sili™ Body Lotion
Price: $20 for 8oz
The Silli Body Lotion like the other products in the line smells like almonds. It’s described as a formula to restore dull, dry and irritated skin. The consistency is a nice medium of thickness. The lotion itself absorbs into the skin very well. Once absorbed my skin feels smooth, but there’s almost no remembrance of the lotion.
In my opinion I feel like the lotion is very light. I think those that do not like heavy moisturizers would like this. As for myself I need body creams that are very rich in consistency. I don’t believe this lotion would offer me a sufficient amount of moisture on its own to use during extreme dry temperatures like the winter. Being that the consistency is very light and absorbs into the skin well, I do think this is going to be perfect for me to use during the summer weather. I’m holding this lotion on the side until then and will resume using it once the temperature heats up.

Overall Thoughts…
I really enjoy using the deodorant and the body cleanser and will need to finish testing out the body lotion. The price on the majority of the items are a bit higher, but I don’t find them unreasonable. I think for the most part the prices match the products. If you’re using the body cleanser and lotion alone and not sharing it, I can see the 8oz bottles of both lasting for a while. But if these items were to be shared amongst two people or perhaps a whole family, I could see them depleting very quickly.
If you’re on the fence about purchasing them just yet, just know Drunk Elephant is supposed to be coming out with a Littles Set of the Body and Hair Care products. This would be a great way to test them out and get a feel.
