Moisturizers for Combo Skin- Winter Edition
I have normal to combination skin that is very much on the oily side. During the mornings I prefer to use a light weight moisturizer- preferably one that is a gel-based texture. In the evenings I prefer heavier moisturizers. My skin is also dehydrated, which means it lacks hydration. The combination of my skin type and skin condition makes it difficult to find the perfect combination of moisturizer, therefore I have different moisturizers for my both my AM and PM routines.
AM Moisturizers
Volition Beauty – Yaupon Tea Glow-Awakening Moisturizer
Price: $39 for 2.0oz
The Volition Beauty Yaupon Tea Moisturizer is a caffeine-based gel moisturizer that’s said to hydrate the skin along with minimizing the effects of puffiness and fine lines. The texture of this moisturizer appears to be a thick gel like consistency, but once applied to the skin texture melts into the skin beautifully. The Yaupon Tea gives a slight glow and it’s not greasy or heavy on the skin. This moisturizer is amazing and such a light weight consistency. I find that this works well even under my heavy sunscreens in the morning.

Farmacy Daily Greens
Price: $38 for 1.7 oz
The Farmacy Daily Greens is an oil free moisturizer that is light weight and moisturizers so well. The consistency is a light weight gel. The Daily Geens is formulated with Papaya Extract and 4 types of Hyaluronic Acid, with one of them being polyglutamic acid which is known for elasticity and plumping the skin. I tried using this moisturizer during the summer and winter months. I do feel that it’s light weight in comparison to many others that I’ve tried, but I do feel like it may be too heavy for the summer months, thus making it the perfect weight for the winter!
I have seen some complaints regarding the Papaya scent- which gives it a sweeter scent. I actually like the scent, but just something to keep in mind.

Tatcha Water Cream
Price: $68 for 1.7 oz
The Tatcha Water cream is an oil-free moisturizer. The texture is very light weight, which it makes it absorb into the skin very quickly. This Water Crean is recommended for all skin types, but I think if you have combo to oilier skin you would appreciate how well this moisturizer without leaving behind a heavy feeling on the skin. This is a moisturizer that I feel like I can wear year-round in my AM routine. Honestly, this is my all time favorite moisturizer- my only grip is the price and this is why I tend to purchase this one during sales at Sephora.

PM Moisturizers
Farmacy Honey Halo
Price: $45 for 1.7oz
The Honey Halo Moisturizer is enriched with ceramides, which are known for moisturizing the skin and protecting the barrier of the skin. This moisturizer is on the thicker side and moisturizers very well. This is the moisturizer I reach for on the nights that I used Tretinoin/Retinol or after doing strong acid base mask/treatments. I know this is a moisturizer often recommended to dry skin types but if your skin is on the combo side, I think you would appreciate this one for your night routines during the winter season.

Fresh Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Face Cream
Price: $42 for 1.6oz
The cream is described as light weight gel cream that can provide moisturizer for up to 24 hours. I do agree that this moisturizer provides a deep level of moisturizer, but I find the texture to be very much in the middle ground when it comes to its moisturizing levels. Whenever I use this at night, I wake up to my skin feeling plump and moisturized. I can’t say that it really provides moisture for up to 24 hours, but I do love how well it works overnight. As with many products from the Fresh line, this one indeed smell like cucumbers.

Youth to the People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream
Price: $58 for 2oz
The Adaptogen cream is said to be a hydrating moisturizer formulated for reactive skin types. When I initially tried it I thought it would be too heavy for my skin. Some days I used during the day and others at night. This moisturizes well and doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. I love that this formula is fragrance free and made with squalene and plant extracts. If you have sensitive skin, this may a great option for you.
